Turboprint supports the Canon IP 1600 printer, among many other color printers:
http://www.turboprint.info/printers.html Call me old-fashioned, but I prefer articles that give answers. Anyone can stand around looking puzzled and invite readers to do the author's homework; sorry but I don't see the value in that. |

ipod == gtkpod move printer *nix and share from there, you already know MS doesnt want to play, however over a network it doesnt care how the printer is attached, it just doesnt like to share them. alternately ... learn what your talking about before whining ... and yes ken thats all your doing here is whining. Penguinista ... HAH, padawan you are far from that yet. |

Quoting:Call me old-fashioned, but I prefer articles that give answers. I agree, but I'm as guilty as anybody of complaining on the blog when something isn't working. I usually follow up when I have the problem resolved, except when I can't seem to do that and just complain about the same thing every six months until I get tired of it. Regarding iTunes, I imagine I'm not the only one here who sees Apple's "evil" meter peg when this application is involved. Designed to lock in users, sell expensive hardware and endless 99-cent music files ... any solution is better than iTunes in WINE (or iTunes in Windows or Mac for that matter). And I'll second the motion re: connecting the printer to the Linux PC and having Windows print over the network. |

@Steven_Rosenber Connectivity and interoperability are a one-way street for Microsoft. They only want it to happen in the direction that benefits them. |

TC, Yeah a lot of that happens in the Ubuntu forums. Not high maturity level to do that. If you have a problem ask someone nicely instead of venting unproductively. |
