I've read tons of Linux articles over the years and this is the first one I've seen on quarterly reports. I almost skipped this because quarterly reports = dullsville. However, much to my surprise Bruce Byfield made the KDE and GNOME quarterly reports interesting. Of course there were some assumptions made, and one can't draw definitive conclusions based on just one quarter, but nontheless the article didn't put me to sleep! :-) |

Bruce is good, one of the very few tech journalists who goes beyond the usual fluffy re-hashes and Microsoft worship. |

I think Bruce has been making a lot of good observations lately that I wish other people had spoken up about long ago because I've been noticing them for years. Too bad the troll patrol typically try to shoot him down. |

I agree with the comments so far. I've been impressed with Bruce Byfield's writing. He isn't afraid to tackle controversial subjects and does so without sensationalism and with a great deal of supporting fact based information. As beirwin points out he was able to take dry material and find the interesting bits as well and do some good analysis. |

Bruce is a pro, for sure. |
