I love open source just as much as the next guy out there. But switching to open source will not save near enough money to pay for a Nat'l Healthcare system. If were lucky it'll put a dent in it.

I have to agree. Some people seem to think FOSS (or just Linux) is a panacea. Free Software will solve all the world's problems. Just jettison proprietary software and the world will be a happy, shiny place. OK, I'm exaggerating a bit but some of the claims that I do read are about as unlikely was what I just wrote.
