I'm glad to see these offerings so long as everything works. They have to do some fancy footwork to make Jaunty deal with Intel graphics properly. I never was 100% satisfied on my Sylvania netbook. (Oh, and yes, Karmic is better.) I still think there is a real market for extra small, lightweight, quiet and very inexpensive. Think 7-9" screens, SSDs, and a $200-$250 price point. A 10" netbook isn't what I'd look at. I love my 8.9" netbook but miss the smallness of the 7" model I had. |

What Problems do you have with the Intel Graphics caitlyn? The only problem I've had are with the wireless card, and that on only one of the netbook brands I've tried, which include Pioneer BENQ MSi - Wireless issues I was able to run full 3D desktop on all of them. I do get some graphics issues when I run Karmic on the MSi, but everything else works fine, except it keeps losing the wireless key |

The wireless issues go away on the MSi when I install Pardus. The only problem I have with Pardus, so far, is locating the packages for the Win32 codecs and libdvdcss. I can't find any repositories other than the default one. |

Pardus installs Win32 codecs and libdvdcss by default. Everything worked on my system right out of the box. Are you sure they are not installed? They are in the base repository in any case. With Jaunty my Sylvania netbook was unusable. Incredibly poor performance, X hangs/crashes, and video corruption. Basically everything the Phoronix people saw with their Samsung netbook I saw with mine. Considering that the Samsung and the Sylvania use identical graphics chips (Intel Mobile Express Graphics 945GME, rev. 3) that isn't surprising. Karmic is much better on my system. |

I searched for libdvdcss in the Packagemanager and didn't find it I'll run some tests as soon as I get another chance. |

Please remember that PiSi, the package manager, is much more limited than what you're used to in Ubuntu. If you're using the GUI version it is not capable of showing installed and available packages at the same time. Did you click on the second box from the left (installed packages) and search there? That will show you if libdvdcss is installed or not. |

Click on "show installed packages' do the search and there it is. |

Great! You almost certainly have the codecs as well :) Turkey has no equivalent of the DMCA in the U.S. or whatever similar laws are called in Japan or some European countries. |
