Yes, I went "Ewwww...." too. For $DIETY's sake, if you're going to rip off a language syntax to build something simple upon then rip off Python, not BASIC. BASIC's language constructs are full of WTF's. There's a reason even Microsoft dropped it... |

What? Cant we see the beauty of: 10 ECHO "WE'RE STUCK IN A LOOP!" 20 GOTO 10 On a more serious note, BASIC is UGLY, but easy enough to let even the nost inept Joe and Jane Average whip up some proggies. BASIC was a huge success at the beginning of the PC revolution. I can see why Google is going with BASIC. |

I pity you. I have been knee-deep in rotten BASIC so I know that kind of hell, but I was spared the horrors of COBOL fortunately. I have known a different kind of horror though: DCL (DEC Command Language) on OpenVMS. Really, that stuff makes BASIC look good in comparison... |
