Took me less than 30 seconds of use before I decided that this was a killer addon. There is a nice little video describing the project and then a download site for the code that also has a .xpi installer. This is one of those things that hits you right between the eyes andmakes you wonder what took someone this long to come up with it.

[Serious]

I tend to be a skeptic on most Firefox add ons, hence, I am astounded by the number some claim to load. I am, however, quite dependent upon a small list myself, e.g. Adblock Plus, Flashblock and NoScript. In addition, I see that Ubuntu has several Ff modifications loaded.

Now the point is that having read the summary several times today, I thought my interest would range from nil to none. Nonetheless, I am one of those that tended to overload Firefox with soft bookmarks, because I had in the past lost my entire set of bookmarks in older versions. Indeed, I was routinely running Ff with 160 or more tabs under version 2.0 or 2.5 (cannot remember with certainty). This was a bad move because I lost them more than once even as I was reducing the total number.

Another problem I have with bookmarks are I forget where I stored that critical article.

So yes this looks very interesting, but I will wait until I update my distribution and add Firefox 3.5 as my standard browser.

What does TabViz do when you open tabs from multiple "roots"? About half the tabs I open come from links. The pther half comes from hitting Ctrl+T and doing a fresh google search or going to a bookmark. Does it start to show the fans from multiple corners? And what then when you run out of corners?

I personally rely on Tab Mix Plus for my tab handling. Single window mode, always open new tabs from history, booksmarks, and search, make 3 rows of tabs before making me select from a button, don't close FF when the last tab is closed.

I'll have to check out TabViz to see what it's all about.

Sander thats a bug I reported to them already, why you open an outside link it gives it a new root radial. There are a couple of others that I ran across and reported as well. But even with the few glitches I have run across, this one has already been one of my must haves. Adblock Plus, Downthemall, Google translate extenfion, and now this.

Personally the #1 must-have is Firebug. I can't develop websites without it anymore.

I haven't used firebug much, but I'd be lost without Web Developer Toolbar for my dev work.

Firebug is a fantastic bit of kit, I've learned more about css using it than I've learned reading upteen different books on the subject. Being able to virtually rearrange the page on the fly, or test fixes to layout issues on a live page is a lifesaver, not to mention a timesaver.
