You know, I tried preload, can't remember if it was in Debian or Ubuntu, and it didn't speed up anything for me. |

Steven, IIRC you are perpetually putting *nix OS's on computers that are one step up from being hamster driven. Preloading apps requires something specific, enough memory for those apps to stay cached. |
