Funny, after I found out how slow KDE4 is on my system, I started longing for some tiny environment that directly booted into a console-browser with Framebuffer / Directbuffer support (graphical links).

Something x86_64-pc-linux-uclibc is what I want. Tried uclibc's bootstrap-menu (great BTW!) http://buildroot.uclibc.org/ and experimental embedded Gentoo, still no success. Even without cross-compiling (Gentoo experimental is i386 an I'd like x86_64 - just because it doesn't make any sense but "can be done"!) still no luck. Also tried gcc-3.4 instead of 4.3. Only then you find out how great Linux-desktop distro's are, where everything 'just works'. Only when using outdated OpenBSD ports (back then I didn't understand how to update, had only been a Windows-user before) I experienced this many compile failures.

Haven't managed to compile it yet, I receive errors all the time (basically because of uclibc I think). Anyway, if I'll succeed I'll post some 'boot-time' benchmarks.
