Nice thing about kontact is the ability to access the calendar from the kommand line, without using the gui, so you can get out all the events for a given period (for one of my guys I do a rolling one year period). So what I do is use a real gui programming language to give the user a nice button to press, go out to shell, get the calendar in, then reformat it as a list with all the right stuff in bold and in the various places they want it, and then pipe it into Open Office Writer as rtf, so they can make any changes where its not exactly to their taste.

Works great, and as far as they are concerned, its magic and something no other calendar does. We used to use the export as a list feature, but this ended up not being in the format they liked, and also, it exports to a separate file, which they have to remember to keep up to date with exports. This way its just make all changes in the calendar package, do the print from what they think of as the printing function.... Magic.

I'd be fine with Evolution or any other alternative if it could be somehow used in the same way, or if it had a calendar list function that made it unecessary. In fact it would be preferable. You don't want to leave widgets lying around at your customers unless there is no other way. The list function does not seem well catered for in organizers yet.
