I'm a big fan of wget, also used at the command line.

Me too. I really don't like it when websites have elaborate download forms or META redirects for downloads (SourceForge, I'm looking at you!). It makes it hard or impossible to get a correct direct download URL that I can copy/paste in my SSH session in order to wget the file.
