Quoting:a revolutionary OS

*chuckle*

I'm in the midst of reading "The UNIX-HATERS Handbook", hence the chuckle :)

As far as I understood it wasn't revolutionary at all, because all the ideas already existed in the Multics project.

However, while the people at Multics were too busy writing spec-papers and adding error-checking to their software, the people of Bell did a 'quick hack'; left all error-checking out and called it UNICS.

ED: OK, linking files was revolutionary. It was covered in Unics in the early 70's and even nowadays is not even found in Windows!

Well, one could say that in a similar way Windows was revolutionary... Except that in this case the competition wasn't sitting forever in the labs.
