Why am I less than thrilled? I saw Linpus' previous Lite version based on Fedora. Unlike the full blown Linpus Linux they haven't released Lite with any regularity or done what's necessary to keep it properly upgraded. The idea of running from a compressed image (basically a Damn Small Linux style frugal install) makes sense for both security reasons and for keeping things small on itty bitty SSDs. It also makes updating and administrating more painful if the distributor doesn't provide the necessary tools and updates. I hope the new Linpus Lite based on Moblin is handled better than the last one. |
