Is the Linux netbook market really ailing? Dell and Asus have rolled out new Linux models in recent weeks. New ARM and MIPS netbooks running Linux have been announced and those models will likely never be able to run Windows. Why buy into the Linux is failing FUD?

Second, he mentions "Linux netbook return rate". All the manufacturers save MSI have claimed that the Linux return rate is no higher than the Windows return rate. MSI made their claim of a four times higher rate before they had sold even one Linux netbook and said it was based on "their research". That claim has been debunked time and again.

Why is Linux Magazine even publishing stuff like this? Must what is otherwise a decent article about Moblin buy into the MS FUD machine?

Well it this is this U.S. Linux Magazine, that jumped into the market with both feet with pity editorial comments indicating complete lack of understanding what Free software implied, e.g. (approximately and in a published review in the hard copy) " ... this is free software, why do I have to pay to own it?".

Well too, very early their major advertiser was MS pushing the superiority of its IIS server to the Linux community that might not have known of its products. Thus, if this is the magazine you cite, perhaps it is just too easy to understand.

That is, NOT everything labeled Linux is safe to consume. For your own safety I advise having it tested for toxins prior to even the thought of consuming its contents. Now you cannot say I did not warn you ...

You have a point about Linux Magazine. I remember the whole kerfuffle when they first took MS advertising. A lot of the readership was really upset about that. Still, since they make the bulk of their money serving the Linux community you'd think they'd strive for better.
