Sorry about that, I removed it. I am not a fan of double posts, especially when they are given a different title to try and fool you..again, sorry.

It's called "re-purposing". Anything published on Internet.com can be re-used by any other Internet.com publication. It gives authors more exposure, and the articles reach new audiences. Everyone does it, and in this era of tight budgets some sites are re-purposing hot articles as many as a dozen times. On Internet.com you won't see a story re-used more than a couple of times. Changing the title and lead is done to tailor the article to the site; otherwise we don't mess with them.

Re-purposed stories do well on LinuxPlanet because we have virtually no overlap with any of the other sites. When I recycle a Linux/FOSS story and it does well, which they always do, it sends the message to management that that sort of content is valuable and desirable, which is a message that must be continually reinforced.

I never submit a re-purp to LXer. If you like Scott, you can leave submitting LinuxPlanet stories up to me, and I'll make sure there are no re-runs.

And I love you for it. I hardly ever see any from Linux Planet but you are welcome to be in charge of submitting them. :-)
