I've got my stock Ubuntu Netbook Remix (with updates) on this machine and I also have looked at the latest Moblin alpha. I find it surprising that Moblin doesn't do better. It is, after all, designed to work on only one class of processor (Intel Atom) and only on Intel graphics chipsets. Ubuntu is designed to work on most anything. All the customizations don't add up to all that much. The version of the kernel matters more. All the tested distros are still works in progress. At the moment Moblin is interesting while Netbook Remix just works and is, AFAICT, fully ready for prime time. |
