If I ever get a reply, I'll post it here. I also encourage others to do the same. It's time they were called on to report all the facts, not just some. |

>[An entire article about computers and hacking and not one single mention of what OS they were running? Interesting.. - Scott] i found only 2 sites : Quoting:Die Spionage-Software verbarg sich mittels Rootkit-Techniken im Windows-Systemhttp://www.heise.de/newsticker/Chinesische-Spionage-Software... http://i.gizmodo.com/5189118/immense-ghostnet-computer-spy-s... |

To be fair. The Beeb article has a link to http://www.infowar-monitor.net/ which originally produced the report. - it seems to be undergoing a major /.ing at the moment (or some very annoyed Chinese gentlemen are Ddosing it). When I finally got into the infowar site and followed the link to the report I found that the report itself was very quiet about which OS was being used. There was some mention of Word documents - but I couldn't find anything about the OS that we suspect it was. Lets face it most readers of the article would automatically assume it was windows anyway. |

God forbid a reporter should do any actual reporting. |

tracyanne: I've posted complaints to the Beeb over one sided reporting on a particular conflict in our world. They've been censured by their own Board of Governors on the issue I raised and it's been reported by organizations like the Times of London. Still the bias and one sided reporting continues. Somehow I don't see you making any more progress than I did. To me the British Bias Corporation lost all credibility some time ago. Oh, and no, I won't expound on the issue in question on this forum. It'd be a TOS violation for sure. Mind you, all I was asking for was something resembling balanced coverage. |

caitlyn, it still might be interesting to see how many if any get a reply. |

It's very obvious bias. To give some comparable examples, when Ford recalls a vehicle the news says "Ford Foo recalled for defect." They don't say "vehicles recalled" and leave it up to the reader to do detective work to find out which ones. When ground beef that is contaminated with e coli turns up in restaurants, they name the restaurants and the meat distributor. Etc.... |

@tracyanne: So long as you're not holding your breath waiting for a reply I'm fine with that. @tuxchick: I obviously agree with you. There are news organizations all over the world that I have respect for. They don't get everything right 100% of the time but they do honest journalism and don't try to push their opinions as news. In the U.S. the best example is PBS who usually try to get both sides to every issue (or however many sides there are). In Europe I'd cite Agence France Presse (AFP) or Deutsche Welle as good examples. No, they're not perfect. The BBC, OTOH, is about as unbiased as Fox News in the U.S.A. Fox News at least doesn't try to claim they are unbiased like they used to. The Beeb, OTOH, still tries to claim they are presenting news rather than opinion. |

@caitlyn Quoting:So long as you're not holding your breath waiting for a reply I'm fine with that. A reply from whom... the Beeb or other Linux users who've also complained to the Beeb. As I said "If I ever get a reply..." |

ta: I meant a reply from the Beeb. IME you won't get one regardless of the merits of your complaints. |
