DISPLAY DRIVER PROBLEMS

Any propertairy driver has problems. Either with the version of the kernel you have so it doesn't work or the 3D function doesn't work like it should (compared to the M$ Windows driver). I have used NVidia in the past, which colours are bad, but the speed is good. ATI has very good colours but the speed isn't quite what you expect. Both have problems when you upgrade the kernel. The 3D wont work any more and you need to switch too opensource drivers if you want to use the card. So WHY is the driver so dependent to the kernelversion ??? And not modular? |
