I am sorry for the delay but due to travel and all the complexities involved (like how I said that?) I will be getting the LXWR out later today and will be feverishly working to finish up several articles about SCaLE 7x to be published this week.

I was a busy bee at the conference and I promise it will be worth the wait.

Understood, Scott. To all reading this, he WAS a busy bee at the conference. SCaLE rocked, in a pair of words. Great to meet you at SCaLE, SR, and looking forward to your report.

If you can't wait: http://larrythefreesoftwareguy.wordpress.com/2009/02/22/road...

But we still need to get the story from Scott. He may have seen other strange and wonderful things.

I've been to SCALE in the past, but this year seemed to me to be the best one yet. I don't have hard figures but there seemed to be more attendees than in previous years.

The WIOS track on Friday was very good. I picked up useful information in the openvz, mozilla, database filesystem performance, and linux in an economic downturn sessions.

The swag was good, and I picked up 3 books as well.

Oh and hi Larry -

Great, more open source news is always welcome. Especially graphical evidence Scott was there!

Well it seems I am getting sick, better said, I am sick..ugh.

My head feels like a 20lb bowling ball and my nose I will not give up the gory details. I am trying to get through the SCaLE articles but..I hope to get over this as quick as possible so I can do this with a clear head and not have to re-write everything because writing with a sick head is not conducive to high quality prose.

I hate being sick..

I was only at the show on Saturday, where I did meet Larry. The extreme openess of the Fedora booth was in contrast to the Red Hat booth, where they didn't want to answer a single question I had (and yes, they were fairly geeky and innocuous). Guess they keep it tight in Raleigh ...

Scott, maybe you could dictate your article to a voice-recognition program.

(Now THAT would be interesting to read... ;-)

Scott no need for excuses, we all know that you stopped in at Las Vegas on your way back home, and still haven't figured out what your new wifes name is, so that is occupying most of your brain function.

Hope you get better soon.

California is swimming in bacteria and viruses ... everybody here is sick, so it's no wonder Scott picked up something on this side of the border.

His name is Sue, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Boy_Named_Sue I heard from someone at the wedding "they were made for each other". How sweet.

YBT.

P.S. You must have had a hell of a fever to do that Scott.

There was a Linux version of ViaVoice. I don't know if it's still available or not.

In my opinion Stargate SG-1 is one of the best sci-fi shows ever made. Not only does it have a very original and compelling premise but it also has some of the best and most original characters of any TV show. As well as this it manages to pull of not only convincing character development but also manages to move the show itself forward at a steady and realistic pace. Walt-Disneys-100-Years-Of-Magic-DVD-Boxset-DVDSStar-Trek-Complete-Series-DVDS It has great writers with fabulous plotlines and dialogue. The acting is also some of the best you will find in a genre show of this type. Richard Dean Anderson in particular ii am not really into realistic programmes. i watched "hollyoaks" for a while and a love Navy-NCIS-Naval-Criminal-Investigative-Service-Season-1-5-DVD."prison break" thats it. i love programmes like Smallville-Seasons-1-8-DVD-Boxset "Lost-Season-1-4-DVD-Boxset" .Las-Vegas-Seasons-1-5-DVD-Boxset-DVDS ."Buffy-The-Vampire-Slayer-Seasons-1-7-DVD-Boxset" ,24-Hours-Seasons-1-6-DVD-Boxset-DVDS.House-MD-Seasons-1-5-DVD-Boxset-DVDS,"angel" and even "sabrina the teenage witch"... however i watched One-Tree-Hill-Season-1-6-DVDS

That one is pretty impressive. Though it would have been more impressive if they could have tied it into the conversation, some how.
