After looking through several pages of their site, I'm sure that it's an open-source entry in the Rock Band / Guitar Hero category. I don't have a problem with that, and, assuming the peripherals can be made to plug into their computers, I think my kids might enjoy having a go at it... but it's for gamers, not musicians. It's not a music-making tool, it's a game about playing music, and the pushbutton-fretboard technique used (as observed watching players of Guitar Hero, anyway) is nothing like I'd want to mess up my already badly-rusted guitar chops with. |
