Ken hits another one into the bleachers! To those of you whom may not understand that; Ken is right again.

But, why would anybody buy a computer from a store/company that does not really sell Linux computers?

Why would anybody buy a computer from a brand name manufacturer? Most people are not familiar with the "art" of building computers. So they rely and trust on the big names in the industry. The Dell's, HP's, Lenovo's of this world provide a blanket of comfort for people who are not computer savvy. People will turn to them even if what they get is an ill fit for what they really need or want.

Let me take a wild stab at this and guess, familiarity and/or price?

I'd add ignorance to that list as well. Consering most folks don't know Linux exists (or don't know what it is), and even if they do, they don't know there are places to buy it preinstalled (Obligatory ZaReason plug here!).
