I bought this for my wife and she loves it.I've always been the one to set up all of the computers in the house but she set this up without much help. All in all, pretty well set up to "just work".Having said that, there was one major Gotcha after updating. It was a power management issue that seems to go back quite a ways.It took some google time and command line to fix. This could a problem for someone without any Linux experience.I still really like this thing and if your looking for a Netbook, it's a nice way to go.

I've been seriously looking into getting one of these. The Sylvania seems to offer the best specs for the price. The only problem is the keyboard. That's a dealbreaker for me.

The only netbook that has regular-sized keys is the HP, but AFAIK, that doesn't come with Linux, which is another dealbreaker.

Edit: According to this site http://www.liliputing.com/2008/11/hp-mini-1000-linux-edition... the HP Mini will be shipping with Linux soon. My understanding was that it would run Linux, but I couldn't actually find one. I guess this is why.

I have the original Sylvania g and I have no problem typing on this keyboard like any other -- something I could not say for my old Libretto. At $239 current price it really is hard to beat.

The keyboard won't cut it for long periods of serious work.Short term or checking email seems what it's built for.

The Aspire One has a useable keyboard. That was a big part of what made me go for it. Battery life's rubbish though.

Funny, I'm using my system for a little of everything, from patching software to writing articles. Granted I have small fingers and hands and that might help. For the past two weeks I've used the Sylvania as my main system, the ultimate test for any new computer. It has passed with flying colors, including the keyboard.

Netbooks aren't for everyone. They are small. If you don't like small you probably shouldn't buy one.

My wife doesn't seem to have any problems with the keyboard either.I like lots of room on mine.I've been using the MS Natural for a long time. After that, any laptop keyboard seems small.

Could always get one of these: http://ipmedia.manufacturer.globalsources.com/si/60088248635...

In fact... would be nice if one could rotate the screen around, or even flip the screen all the way over so the back of the screen and the bottom of the machine meet, and then have a convenient fold out stand. That way you can attach your portable keyboard and mouse without having two keyboards between you and the screen.
