this is in the category of windows still outsells linux on pc's if I walk into sam's club or target and they have a netbook with windows cheaper than the linux one or not even have a linux choice then I guess that pretty well puts the nail in the coffin. I was in sams the other day and they had an acer netbook for around 300 but it had windows xp on it and NO linux choice. why isn't vista on it - I wonder why? but I checked the hardware out and all the hardware was compatible with linux and installing linux on it would be no problem at all. so do we have stats on people that buy windows pc's and install linux on them when they get home? |

What difference can any of this make? People already know Windows, so that is what they buy. In similarly shocking news, the sun rose this morning. |

The only way for Linux to compete is with preinstalls. I was very surprised to see Asus Eee PCs with Linux at Target. |
