Quoting:But this is like suing Barnes & Noble for plagiarism, because they put a book on the shelf that just happened to be a ripoff of someone else's work. To me ripoff is a term used for stealing, so what he says here doesn't fit with what a p2p client does very well. Since if B&N is selling a "stolen" book, they can get sued for it. I think a more apt analogy would be suing Office Max for selling scanners and copy machines, because they can be used to steal copyrighted material. |

The whole thing is absurd. I never thought the day would come when someone would make the MAFIAA look less ridiculous. |

Given that most piracy is done using Windows, why aren't they going after Microsoft? |

Maybe they did outlaw brains first. |

> Maybe they did outlaw brains first. Nah. They just use public education to train people not to use them. |

<sarcasm>I bought a box of pencils yesterday. How long before I have to pay $10 or $100 per pencil because they might be used to make copies of copyrighted materials? How long before they outlaw pencils so that they can never be used to make illegal copies of things? Why not just appoint a personal law enforcement officer to watch over every action each citizen takes during the course of their lifetime. This way we can arrest any offenders on the spot for any and all crimes. Why would anyone object to that? Only people who plan on breaking the law would object. all the law abiding citizens have nothing to hide. </sarcasm> |
