Read the article. Microsoft clearly acknowledges that they *tried* to get Nigeria to do the Windows-for-Linux swap, and probably some money would have changed hands. Instead of focusing on that, which strikes me as a real issue, we get a full two or three paragraphs of pro-MSFT spin, amounting to "It didn't get signed-off on, so it doesn't matter." Wow. We tried to bribe Nigeria, but some stubborn mule needed Linux, so the bribe went unclaimed. Because of that, we did no wrong. I guess when you're as big as MSFT, and as important, the rules for the "little people" don't apply so much. |

I was just thinking that - from the article, it looks like their "defense" boiled down to "the deal fell through and we never actually paid out." |
