Not "the manufacturer is in Microsoft's pocket"?

I noticed that too. I don't know how that stupid phrase "Linux doesn't support blah" came from. It supports a whole lot more than Windows.

I've got an HP with Broadcom, and a Compaq with an Atheros chipset that isn't supported native in the kernel.

The Broadcom requires firmware extracted from the Windows driver, where the Atheros is completely unable to work. Such is life.

It's too bad that WIFI is the "last great hurdle" to making things easy.

Today's "last great hurdle" will be superseded by a similar hurdle tomorrow.
