Quoting:Oracle and Red Hat representatives questioned during this week's Oracle OpenWorld conference in San Francisco offered strikingly different perspectives on how well Oracle's plan has worked out. Red Hat: We don't see a difference. People must not like Oracle. Oracle: We're booming! Red Hat beware! Reality: Oracle just generates new business. It's not steeling customers from Red Hat but creating a new market for it's "Unbreakable Linux". Conclusion: This is healthy for Linux as a whole. |

Yes, having another high-end Linux vendor making money is indeed a good thing. Particularly a company that spits so much venom towards Microsoft. |

Much as I like to see oracle succeed in its turf war with microsoft, I am a bit disappointed in oracle ability to play well with other linux vendors. Oracle doesn't IMHO really show much understanding of whole concept of "linux community" at this point... |

My company reviewed a new ERP solution about a month ago. Although it's a Windows application, the database is Oracle running on Red Hat. |
