I've gotten into a lot of verbal scrapes concerning how F/OSS is an exercise in private property and the free market. I'm glad to know that someone else sees it the same way. Lots of people do. That doesn't mean that the motivations of F/OSS developers can't be altruistic, for the "good of mankind", and other non-monetary reasons. The fact is that a "free market" means that people of all motivations can interact in voluntary and mutually beneficial ways. Free air doesn't prevent folks from compressing, bottling and selling "air". Such is F/OSS. |

Interesting point you bring up. One $4.99 can of "air" for cleaning a keyboard is worth more than my dad's $600 air compressor. |
