It's not like they put any real energy into it in the first place. Feeble, half-hearted, and totally not promoted. It never was possible to find the so-called Linux Thinkpads on lenovo.com. I think they never existed, it was just a bunch of vapor.

Meh, these pee cee vendors and their timid, tentative efforts at linux offerings. a pox on them all...

That sounds about right. When I was goining around the various hardware vendors, here in Aus, see my Dell posting, I contacted the Lenovo agents. The "nice" salesman told me they don't offer Linux as there is quote: no market for it. I suggested he was wrong he told me he wasn't interested in arguing with me, I told him he'd lost a customer and hung up.

If there isn't a market for it, it's because poor marketing and sales practices have strangled it.

Indeed, people won't buy what they don't know about. I've had enough surprised comments (that there is something other than windows and that other one) from people, when I've shown them Mandriva Linux, to know that properly marketed Linux will sell.
