For us Canadians this eliminates the customs hassles and the "just because we can" border fees. There's dancing in the streets today. :-)

Egads, you know I usually refer to ipod packing yuppies as lemmings. I just realized how far off the mark I was. It's people with cell phones.

How is it you think you rate that the world will come crashing to a halt if your cousins half brothers girlfriends mother cant get ahold of you about your aunties favorite tea cake? Face it, all cell phone are really good for is ruining your driving skills (driving while on the phone is more hazardous than driving drunk), annoying all the people around you with your idiot cheesy ring tone, and giving you what you consider a viable excuse for ignoring the people who are sitting right there with you.

@az I use hands free, Makes no more difference to my driving than talking to the passenger, I can't see how using one of these with a hands free is going to make any difference.

hehe I got my Freerunner Friday. :) And I'm having lots of fun learning it and playing with it. Of course, I'm not using it as a phone, as I don't have a gsm provider at the moment (and I'm not planning to switch unless I can pay the same as I do now - $15.90 every 90 days - or less to rarely use my phone). But I gotta say...WiFi + tangoGPS is fun Now if I could just figure out how to get pulseaudio to send the stream from my laptop and make it play through my Freerunner....

@techiem2 and others with a Freerunner: Shortly after the freerunner was released I read some reviews that pointed to a hardware problem: The GPS doesn't work well when the extra flash card is installed. Has this been fixed? Also, there were some echo problems when making a phone call.

I really want to get a Freerunner but since I need it as my primary phone and not just as an extra gadget, I'm taking a wait-and-see approach before I buy one.

Yeah, I read about that. I was fortunate to get a non-glitched one. My GPS works just fine with the sd card in.

As for phone, who knows. I haven't been paying that much attention to the phone side of things since I don't have gsm.

Obviously there's some software glitches here and there. At some point here I'll write about my experience so far and toss up the obligatory unpacking pictures. :)

I was about to purchase an Open Moko Free runner from Koolu. Their site says

Credit card payments accepted through PayPal IPN

No PayPal account needed

I hadn't noticed this when I started to place the order, and it wasn't until I got to the final checkout that I realised, they use PayPal.

I immediately cancelled the order. I only hope I didn't inadvertently give my email address to PayPal, because if I did, I will be spammed by them.
