From the comments:

Quoting: Ubuntu is not easy enough for daily use yet. especially the adobe flash player..

and the reply
Quoting:I'm typing this message on a Inspiron 1525N with Ubuntu Gutsy and it's fast and easy to use and configure. As for the flash player, the previous poster is repeating FUD. Here's how to install the flash plugin:

sudo apt-get install flashplugin-nonfree

Then, type your password and that's it. Updates are automatic. I'd say it compares favorably the loops you have to go through to get this simple thing done in Windows. ;)

It's even easier on Mandriva, you don't have to type anything at the command line, Adobe Flash player is installed when you install the OS, except on the Free version, where only Free Software is installed. Of course if you happen to buy a Dell with Ubuntu pre installed, going to the command line and typing the above is certainly easier than installing Mandriva and getting Flash installed as part of the install. On the other hand if you a complete noob, you are not going to know the magic incantation that is required to install Flash player on Ubuntu, and will spend considerable time searching the internet for it, assuming you are not such a noob that your best friend isn't named Google.

It's not easy enough for daily use because he can't get all the normal spyware and viruses to install automagically from the web.....
