Well, I did that is, until Debian dropped it. "Not being developed upstream any more." But, but, http://www.xmms.org/ exists and seems to be being updated. ....ok, updated April 2007.... |

IIRC, Patrick Volkerding replaced XMMS with Audacious, for a similar reason: XMMS was the only package in Slackware that still relied on GTK+ v1. When he switched to Audacious, he could clean out a rather dusty corner in the distro. |

I guess maybe I could fork it. :^) Naaa, bummer, I'm no programmer. In fact, I tried compiling XMMS from the sources provided, and after several tries it still wouldn't compile correctly. Thanks, going to try audacious. |

Well, no need to fork. It looks like Audacious got to it first. |
