Quoting:Following Walter’s demotion from OLPC presidency, I was to report instead to a manager with no technical or engineering background who was put in charge of all OLPC technology. So... Does it look like the one who gave green light to XP on XO-1 was this new "manager with no technical or engineering background"? (They can not and should not stop Microsoft from doing what it's doing, but the should not endorse it either, which they apparently do) But the deeper questions seems to be "why was the reorg necessary?" |

jezuch, it could be as simple as intelligently-applied doses of $$$$. Of course I don't know for certain, but it's one explanation for such a radical shift. |
