this article seems to imply that this new thin client is based on something from neoware.
i do not believe the neoware acquisition has anything to do with this model. rather it looks like the t5735 is the younger and bigger brother to the t5725 which has similar but lower specs: AMD Geode NX 1500 vs AMD Sempron 2100+, debian 3.1 vs debian 4, 512mb vs 1gb flash, 256mb vs 512mb ram also here http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/uk/en/sm/WF04a/35123-342039-3... you can see hp compaq models next to hp neoware models, clearly showing which family the t5735 belongs to. and especially this claim: Quoting:One change made by HP is the shift from Neoware's homegrown NeoLinux distribution to the Linux-2.6-based Debian Etch (4.0)simply appears to be false. such a shift has yet to happen for the neoware models, and it never needed to happen for the compaq models as they were using debian already before. greetings, eMBee. |
