and when you click the link and land on the page, the first thing that caught my eye was
Quoting:If you use bad language in the forum or chat room you will be baned

I should have read more that just the title. I fall firmly into the IRC reject/junkie/addict category. baned ... theres a good english is a fifth language that spell check wont catch.

I think he is pointing out that he said baned instead of banned. Since bane means to cause misery or death, so it seems that if you use bad language you will be put to death.

Seems a bit extreme to me.

Reminds me of a (true?) story from the Cold War.

During an "exchange" of management types between the USA and the USSR, the Soviets were touring a typical factory in the States. They knew all about Capitalism, and how the bosses ran their employees into the ground for a pittance, but were rather shocked after the following exchange (via translator):

USSR: "Your workers work like this all the time?"

USA: "Yes, they do."

USSR: "What if they start working less?"

USA: "They would be shot."

It took a lot of back-and-forth after that to figure out the translator had mis-interpreted the word "fired."
