Remarkable. And nice of Arstechnica and Lxer to spread the word. Being a KDE fan I want to try it. The only hesistation is $400 (for the N810). The author says "astounding" and "I didn't use those maps anyway". Makes me think of http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/index.php/User:Onion/Mapper which is port the opposite way. I'm using it - on a laptop with Fedora 8 - and I too was astounded. And not exaggerating either. Finally a real alternative on Linux to Windows only equivalents such as MS Street and Trips.
