This isn't a "new field" by any means. A fellow student/hacker did this on a TRS-80 Model III back in 1985, as a means of "super-authentication". All he had to do was type his name the way he normally did. I tried and tried to mimic his typing, but couldn't do it. To prove that his program wasn't a cheat with a back-door, he set it up for me. I typed my name 10 times for a beginning statistical sample, and then he tried to imitate my typing. He couldn't do it. His program could tell the difference between "me typing my name" and "not me typing my name" every time. |

Can this 'idea' also be used for Linux login - without having to program it myself? Would be funny to try out (in a virtual machine). |
