Rob Weir's original post is far more thoughtful and informative than Roy's cockeyed rant. I loved his paragraph on OOXML saying, essentially, that it is simply a stopgap rush job and that he doesn't believe Microsoft really intends to use it as a foundation for the future because it is so badly engineered. Logical, sensible, but reflects his tenure IBM, a place that makes some effort not to ride bad engineering. I would never presume Microsoft will shy away from something simply because it is a steaming pile of crap. |

Quoting:Rob Weir's original post is far more thoughtful and informative than Roy's cockeyed rant. Agreed. I find the quality of Roy's posts decreasing in quality lately. But hey, I just post them as I find them :-) |
