In this case we do have to perform CentOS install from SATA Optical Drive,
otherwise CentOS won't work properly with several SATA drives.So, option:-

Have you tried with a backported Fedora 6/Rawhide or RHEL 5 beta kernel compiled to work with CentOS 4.x? 2.6.20 and 21 are much better at SATA than a fully-patched 3 year-old kernel. |
