I think it was a good design choice from Nokia. Instead of building in cellular connectivity, they use bluetooth to hook up with a BT-enabled cell phone that is 1/3 the price and that you can have in your shirt pocket.

OTOH it uses up its battery fast and you need a double set of chargers. But the combination works *very* well.

What use do I make of my 770? Well, mostly reading email over the hotel's WLAN when traveling. But also Web phoning for free (or almost) with Gizmo. And at our countryside home, email-over-BT-over-cellular. And reading student theses in PDF. And, surprisingly, octave scripting -- works great on the little gadget.

Imagine, a Unix workstation in your pocket.

My wife says that with fbreader it makes a great ebook reader. With a 1GB card in place, you have room for several hundred books.
