Sounds like an excellent conference. Of particular interest was the one evening session entitled "Open Source in Vancouver", which was open to the public. I'll take a meeting any day organized by volunteers over a meeting run by professionals. Volunteers make all the difference in ensuring a well-run conference. FOSDEM - Free and Open Source Software Developers' European Meeting, linux.conf.au, Ohio LinuxFest, Calgary LinuxFest, and LinuxFest Northwest are other examples of meetings organized by enthusiastic volunteers. |
