I think I missed something. Apart from the fact that this guy found a magic quote on his Slackware system . is there any other reason this would be considered linux news?

Seems a bit of a long shot for me....

I agree, the relevance to Linux was miniscule and incidental. Maybe this one could go into the "Beam in Your Eye" op-ed column in that mythical subsite LXian. The writer's a Pagan; well, so am I, and I don't think it belongs here on LXer.

Considering it's a simple anti-Christian rant, condemning Christians for the great fault of being as human as everyone else, I don't really see that it "belongs" much of anywhere.

Equally petty, but if I ever bother to write to him, I'll have to make sure to spell his name robert raitz, since he can't bother to capitalize anything beginning with Christ.

Do a google on this guy, did. I think I'd rather spend a month reading Enderle articles and listening to Ballmer speeches.

I would agree. This is a linux tinged anti-christian rant. Not the sort of content we want on LXer, I would say.

I found the article rather interesting even if, as mentioned above,
Quoting: ...Apart from the fact that this guy found a magic quote on his Slackware system is there any other reason this would be considered linux news? ...
If nothing else, it is rooted in the principles of F/OSS. Freedom. In this case freedom of expression and freedom of religion (or lack thereof).

The comments were great too. Nothing like reading a good debate when articulated so well.

Kudos to Slackware for inadvertantly initiating such a stimulating read.

I don't really think this belongs here, just because of the tenuous link to FOSS, not because of the content. Not everybody in the world feels warmly towards Christians, unless the fires of hatred count. Surely no one was unaware of that fact?
