Nice that he gives you the commands to remove Lilo, but if you intend to install a new distro, virtually all distros will reformat and install to the old partition. It will also install the new bootloader (hopefully grub). |

What's the remaining case for lilo? I can't think of anything that couldn't be better done with grub now, and lilo makes a lot of things painful (e.g., Xen via lilo). |

I'd have to go back and look at the original discussions, as I don't remember the details. Obviously, Patrick Volkerding seems to think there's some advantage to lilo, as it's still the default bootloader for Slackware (yes, grub is available). |
