I've been deploying linux solutions in small businesses for over a decade... move along, nothing to see here.

I'm getting ready to install CentOS 4.4 at a law office after the first of the year. True, nothing to see here. Linux is more than ready, and businesses are more than ready.

There is plenty to see here! Linux has spread far outside the geek pool, and is getting out into the real world. This is a good thing. Be happy.

Or else.

Kidding!

Maybe.

The big thing at the law office I mentioned is that Linux will RUN ON THE HARDWARE THEY HAVE IN PLACE, while we'd at least need to add RAM for Windows, and most likely a new box altogether. That's a big vote in favor of the Penguin, and more businesses need to realize that. Given that most micro businesses use their server to store files and not much else, Linux makes perfect sense. Yes, you can do all sorts of complicated things with Linux and with Windows, but as a file server Windows cannot begin to compare.
