They give a lot back. This is not just a company that is now doing open source because Java has been open sourced. These guys have been supporting Open Source solutions for some time. They are probably the Number 1 source for Ruby on Rails consultants. Their members and fellows read like a who's who of the Java and Ruby on Rails world.

They are regular sponsors of the Ruby and Ruby on Rails community here in the Chicago area.
