If hardware manufacturers can get linux market share with proprietary drivers, why would they ever free them? Does ESR really believe there's a tipping point where freedom can be demanded? If he does, I don't agree with him. Dave |

I don't agree with him and many of his supporters either, but that sure wont stop them compromise the freedom cause no matter what. I say we just stick to what we've got. They will bash on GPLv3 because it is to prevent certain compromises, while they make those compromises themselves. ESR led Open Source movement is nothing but a thin breakable layer between proprietary software world and the Free Software world. It will bend and break to whatever suits them and their corporate sponsors. Free Software movement however will stay firm! And that's just it. |
