Apple will probably simple withdraw iTunes from the French market, so nobody wins - hkwint

If a DRM-ed music store is the holy grail of computing, yes, then France would lose.

I doubt if DRM is really necessary. It only serves to establish an illegal price fixing scheme. The media outfits are unwilling to sell their goods at the optimal price, therefore they need a scheme in which Free market forces are rendered moot.

The loss of iTunes in France would mean Freedom from coercion to the French people.
