It would be great to have more free unix desktop users. It's kind of funny, and yet kind of sad, seeing all the BSD bigots talk such a good game, but actually using ms windoze for 99.9% of their real computing needs. I'd love to see them actually start using BSD, which would help in the push for open standards on the internet, as opposed to the "duh, everyone uses expee pretty much, right?" mindset that is seen in some corners, and threatens from time to time to shout down freedom and accessibility concerns. |

I feel like any push for open standards would be a lot stronger from taking on Windows on the desktop, instead of cannibalizing the wizened old corpse of Unix, and competing with Linux. |
