Slashdot is the online equivalent of a high school. Articles are chosen for publication based on One Big Popularity Contest. Dozens of insightful stories are rejected every day, but if Jamie Zawinski or Miguel de Icaza so much as blow their nose, it goes right up on the front page.

The political leanings of Slashdot are obviously slanted too. They shouldn't call it "news for nerds" if it's actually "here's your left-leaning global warming alarmism story of the day."

Finally, Slashdot has become just as bad as ZDnet -- if not worse -- at sensationalizing, flame-baiting, and just plain lying in order to get incensed viewers to click click click.

Slashdot has become a sleazy shell of its former self.
