Sony needs to be saved from itself?

I don't think Bill Thompson thought this all the way through. To make his point, he says that Sony and these game manufacturers could have been saved from a lot of embarrassement if mechanisms were in place which would not allow them to do the irresponsible, boneheaded, and dastardly things which they did. Sony et al should not rely on technological measures *force them* to act with a semblance of ethical behaviour. This is like stating that if only car manufacturers bothered to come up with a way to properly secure their vehicles, those poor car thieves would be spared prison time. Maybe I'm the only one, but I don't have any sympathy or empathy for them. |
