Its true that all the tiny USB devices and phones etc can easily be used to misappropriate company data. The companies I've worked in are very careless with temps and contractors. There is no screening as they do for permanent hires, and they use temps in sensitive positions whre they shouldn't, like doing data entry of customer records. but is this a bigger problem that stupid execs who carry laptops with sensitve employee data (Boeing, over 300,000 records), or the dummy who had a carload of un-encrypted backup media that was stolen? |
